About

Welcome! In Fall 2026, I am joining the Civitas Institute at the University of Texas at Austin, after receiving my PhD in Political Theory from UC Berkeley.

I am currently working on my first monograph, titled The Politics of Vice and the Origins of Modern Constitutionalism. I am also interested in the history of the concept of society; the relationship between early modern sovereignty and theology; and sixteenth-century Italian political thought. For more details, see the Research page.

My research has appeared or is forthcoming in journals including the American Political Science ReviewHistory of Political Thought, The Historical Journal, Studi storici, Rivista di storia della filosofia, and Rinascimento, as well as in a number of edited volumes (see Publications).

Before Berkeley, I studied at the Scuola Normale Superiore (Pisa). While attending it, I also received BA (2019) and MA (2021) degrees from the University of Pisa and spent one year (2020-2021) as an Erasmus Affiliate Student at UCL (London).
